James Coughlin's extra-time winner saw Vale Rec come back from two goals down to beat Rangers 5-4 and make the Stranger Cup final.
Rec trailed for much of the game, going 1-0 down, then 2-1 behind and 4-2 down in the second half before hitting two goals to send the game into extra time.
Coughlin pounced in the added half hour to set up a final against neighbours North on 30 December.
"We had a few players that came of age," said Rec boss Tony Smith.
"They set their standards on how they should be playing for the rest of the season."
Smith says that even with the advent of competitions like the Guernsey FA Cup the Stranger is still the number-one knock-out tournament.
"I think we've won it 20 times," he said.
"It's been devalued with all these other competitions that the Guernsey FA are putting on, but, to me, it is still the top cup for locally based teams."
