Jack Cannon's extra time goal ensured St Peter went through

St Peter had Jack Cannon to thank as they progressed through to the Le Riche Cup first round on Wednesday.

Cannon scored in extra time to give St Peter a 2-1 win at western rivals St Ouen in the preliminary round.

Jon Evans scored for the home side in normal time, with Bradley Russell netting for St Peter to make it 1-1.

But Cannon, once on Bournemouth's books, popped up in extra time to ensure St Peter were in the hat for next month's first round draw.

St Ouen made the semi finals last season when they were knocked out by eventual winners Jersey Scottish.

There is one final preliminary round tie between St John and Grouville at les Quennevais on Wednesday 8 October.
