Paul Mooney will be responsible for bringing on young players in Guernsey
The Guernsey FA has appointed Paul Mooney as its new football development officer.
Mooney, who has coached at Portsmouth's development centre, takes up the role at the end of September.
The UEFA "B" licensed coach, who is working towards his "A" licence, will also run the island's under 16s team.
"I am thrilled that the GFA have been able to recruit a candidate of the stature and quality of Paul," said GFA Chairman Mark le Tissier.
"Both I and the GFA delivery team are looking forward to working with him on the implementation of the GFA's National Game Strategy," Le Tissier added.
I look forward to meeting all those involved and working together to make the sport accessible and fun for all

"I am both grateful and excited to be given the opportunity to input into the development of the 'beautiful' game on such a football crazy island," said Mooney.
"I look forward to meeting all those involved and working together to make the sport accessible and fun for all."
Mooney will be assisted with the island under 16s team by former Sylvans coach Martyn de Garis. The duo will replace Paul Ockleford and Chris De Feu who will now concentrate solely on the island's under 18s squad.
Mooney is the latest addition to the GFA hierarchy following a series of resignations over the national game strategy.
The main area of contention was a plan to limit players to only being able to play for one club, which led to the Business and Sunday leagues de-affiliating from the GFA and saw former GFA Chairman Dave Nussbaumer resign.
