Scott played for Middlesex against Worcestershire in the CB40 this season |
Worcestershire have re-signed wicketkeeper Ben Scott on an initial month's loan from Middlesex. Scott, 29, who had a loan spell at New Road last season, will replace Ben Cox in the side to take on Warwickshire. "It is sad for Ben Cox that he has had to serve his apprenticeship in the firing line of Division One cricket," said director of cricket Steve Rhodes. "To aid his development, and to give us more experience behind the stumps, we have brought Ben in." Rhodes added: "As a club we are very proud of the development of our home grown young players." Scott played in seven first-class matches for Worcestershire last season, taking 30 catches and averaging over 30 with the bat. Skipper Daryl Mitchell faces a second scan on a side injury he picked up in Sunday's CB 40 defeat by Derbyshire, but he will miss the game at Edgbaston, which starts on Wednesday. Paceman Matt Mason also misses the game with a shoulder injury.
