Batsman Alexei Kervezee agrees new Worcestershire deal

Worcestershire batsman Alexei Kervezee has agreed a new contract that will keep him at New Road until the end of 2015 season.

The Namibia-born Netherlands international, 20, joined the club in 2006 and will qualify to play for England in late 2011.

"Worcestershire have given me the chance to forge a career in first class cricket," said Kervezee.

"In return I want to commit my future and be part of a very positive future."

Director of cricket Steve Rhodes said Kervezee is key part of his future plans.

"Alexei is developing into a very fine cricketer and is one of the young talented players we want to keep at this club for a long time.

"We are delighted he sees his long-term future with us."

Kervezee moved to the Netherlands from Namibia when he was 12 and has played 29 one-day internationals for the Netherlands.

He hit his his maiden first class century against Derbyshire in May.
