Hamilton's presence will strengthen the Scotland side |
Scotland will fly to Abu Dhabi next week confident that they can see off Kenya and book their place in the ICC Intercontinental Cup final. The three-day game against a weakened Kenya side starts on 16 November.
At stake is a place against either Canada or the United Arab Emirates in the final later that week.
"We're really looking forward to it. We've played some of our best cricket this season in three-day games," captain Craig Wright told BBC Sport.
"We have been training the last month or so indoors, but a number of guys have been playing oversees so they will be in pretty good shape.
"We were there [the United Arab Emirates] in March for a one-day tournament and I believe the temperature will be roughly the same.
"It is likely to be in the high 20s [Celsius], but most of our guys have experience of playing in warm climates so we're not expecting any problems."
Scotland's quarter-final victory over Ireland in Dublin in August was gained without key men Dougie Brown and Gavin Hamilton.
Hamilton is available to face Kenya but there is a major question mark over Brown, who is struggling with an elbow injury. The Scots, however, will be up against an inexperienced Kenyan side following a strike by a group of 13 players.
The Kenya Cricket Association settled the strike but decided not to recall them to face Scotland. Captain Hitesh Modi will also be missing as he is getting married in Nairobi the day after the game.
Ragheb Aga, a 20-year-old seamer who has only played six first-class games, will captain the side in his absence.
"They have left seven or eight of their first-team out because of the problems they have been having," said Wright.
"But they were good enough to get a creditable draw against Namibia.
"The new players will obviously be fired up to make an impression and to keep playing in the team.
"They will be well up for it and we will not underestimate them. We know we have got to play good cricket to win and get to the final.
"It's a new tournament and it would be fantastic for us to go on and win it.
"At ICC level it's important we keep pushing our case, and this is a great opportunity to do so."
