Northants Cricket's chief executive Mark Tagg has admitted some of the club's new floodlights at Wantage Road were put in the wrong place. But he insisted it would not affect the programme of day-night games. "The local authority had complaints about the position of one or two of the lights," he told BBC Radio Northampton. "We've investigated this and unfortunately it does look as though the contractors have put a couple of them in the wrong place." He added: "We're only talking about a few metres out but it's very frustrating because we've put in a lot of time and hard work to get the project right. "The contractors have accepted responsibility for the error and will do whatever is necessary to recover the position." Tagg added: "The good news is the floodlit cricket for this season won't be affected. "One of the contentious issues with floodlights is always light spill - and we've been assured it won't be any worse than under the original application." Northants used the lights - comprising six 48-metre towers - for the first time in their Clydesdale Bank 40 fixture against Derbyshire last Friday. The Steelbacks are due to play another six matches under them this summer. "Due to constraints on the site, which were unforeseen, adjustments have been made to some of the final column locations," said Jerry Brown from contractors Musco. "But those locations won't impact on our ability to meet the stringent light control criteria agreed during the planning process and we can assure all concerned that the quantity and quality of light will meet the project goals."
