 Wantage Road will host seven floodlit games in 2010 |
Work has begun on the installation of permanent floodlights at Northants' Wantage Road home. Contractors will be at the ground for an eight-week project, which should see the six 48-metre towers in place ahead of the new season. "It's fantastic news for Northants cricket and our plans to make this one of the best venues in the country," said chief executive Mark Tagg. "Cricket played under lights is far more spectacular." Northants are set to stage seven floodlit matches this summer, the first of which is against Derbyshire in the ECB 40-over League on 7 May.
