Rushden & Diamonds offer new contracts to seven players

Max Porter is one of seven players offered a new Diamonds contract

Rushden and Diamonds have offered new contracts to Jamie Stuart, Aaron O'Connor, Shane Huke, Paul Terry, Mark Byrne, Kurt Robinson and Max Porter.

Rob Wolleaston, Nick McNamara, Jamie McGuinness, Matt Pattison and Lewis Hilliard have all been released. Jake Beecroft has left by mutual consent.

Dale Roberts, Lee Tomlin and Sam Smith are still under contract next season.

Curtis Osano, Craig Farrell, Joe Day and Michael Corcoran are staying, with options on their contracts undertaken.

Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton: "There have been very positive talks with all the players that have been offered new terms.

"I'm pretty confident that we can get all of them to stay.

"The players on the list played a major part in us reaching the play-offs last season.

"The nucleus played over 25 games each. They're a good age, with good experience, and in this day and age, they're value for money."

Youth Team players Aynsley McDonald and Nabil Shariff have signed professional contracts to become first team squad members for next season.

Neil Cousins is staying as he continues his rehabilitation following injury against Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup.

Loanees Wes Thomas, Cliff Akurang and Jefferson Louis have all returned to their parent clubs.
