Kemp missed most of the 2008 season with a back injury.
Kent all-rounder Justin Kemp says he fully intends to return to the county next season.
There has been speculation that the 31-year-old South African would leave county cricket this year.
But it appears that Kent's promotion back to Division One of the County Championship has swayed his decision.
"It's pretty much sorted - I think I'll probably be back. I've got a good four or five years left of playing good cricket," Kemp told BBC Radio Kent.
He added: "I'm 31 years old so I'm very keen to give it a full go again.
"I've played four season now at Kent and I feel part of the set-up and I want to see the guys do well.
"I'm also pretty keen on getting back into the first division and coming to play and make sure we do well. That's one of the real motivations for coming back.
"We've also got a new coaching staff which is also going to inject something new into the whole set-up so I'm more than likely going to come back."
Kemp struggled for much of the 2008 season with a back injury, but returned to form this year - top scoring with 183 against Surrey.
