Kemp has played four Tests for South Africa |
Kent all-rounder Justin Kemp is confident the Spitfires will rediscover their best one-day form. Having reached both one-day finals last year, Kent failed to progress in the Friends Provident Trophy this season. Their first Twenty20 Cup game of the season was abandoned, with opponents Essex on top, posting 187-7. But Kemp told BBC Radio Kent: "In one-day cricket these things happen. You're not going to be able to go on a good run every year like we did last year." The South African added: "With Twenty20 we've got to try and get some momentum going, so it's just crucial we get a few wins under the belt. | Lord's a special place, especially as a foreign guy playing there. It really is a treat going there Kent's South African all-rounder Justin Kemp |
"When that happens, all of a sudden the game becomes a lot easier." Kent's next Twenty20 game against Middlesex will be the first in the competition to be played under floodlights at Lord's. Kemp said: "It's a special place, especially as a foreign guy playing there. It really is a treat going there. "We've got Ryan McClaren coming back so that's going to add to us as well. It really is crucial for us to try and get a win. "They are a really talented team. We've got to come up with a couple of plans against their batters. They play some extraordinary shots. The way they played in the Friends Provident game was incredible. "It's always great going to Lord's and playing in front of a big crowd there."
