McAuley's batting helped the Isle of Man to the ICC European U17 title in 2010
Two of the Isle of Man's most talented junior cricketers will travel to Spain on Thursday to attend the European Centre of Excellence in La Manga. Rowan Bird and Adam McAuley were both instrumental in the Isle of Man's momentous victory in the ICC European U17 competition, on home soil in 2010. The Cronkbourne duo will be joined by Isle of Man cricket development officer Gareth Dawson. Dawson said: "This will be an extremely valuable experience for the boys." The pair will spend a week with a select squad of 22 talented youngsters from around Europe, under the guidance of some of the game's top trainers. "It is a sensational opportunity and it can only benefit Manx cricket," he added. "During the week the pair will work on all aspects of their game." Ramsey coach Tom Howard will also be in La Manga for the week, to develop his coaching.
