Berkshire will learn from Cornwall defeat - Bjorn Mordt
Bjorn Mordt led Berkshire to the Minor Counties Championship title in 2008
Berkshire captain Bjorn Mordt is confident his side will return stronger for next season.
Berkshire's three-wicket defeat by Cornwall ended their Minor Counties title hopes as they slipped to second in the Western Division behind Dorset.
Mordt told BBC Berkshire: "All the guys in the dressing room are desperate to right the wrongs of this year.
"These sort of defeats will be remembered and will make victories in the future even sweeter."
Zimbabwean Mordt was bitterly disappointed to miss out on silverware but admits the right side won on the day.
"We can only look at ourselves," he said. "It's pretty gut-wrenching to come so close and yet lose.
"The guys tried their hardest and unfortunately we just came second. That's cricket sometimes. Unfortunately you can't win them all."
Mordt was adamant his side cannot blame the decisions of the officials for their defeat.
"There were four or five incidents that didn't go our way but I believe that great teams make their own luck and we just weren't good enough so we didn't win," he added.
