Winning is the only aim for Berkshire - Bjorn Mordt
Mordt led Berkshire to the Minor Counties Championship title in 2008
Berkshire captain Bjorn Mordt is certain his side can win the Minor Counties Western Division title if they focus on their remaining games.
Berkshire are top with eight points more than nearest rivals Dorset, ahead of their final game against Cornwall.
"If we look to beat Cornwall with good attacking cricket then we will win the division," he told BBC Berkshire.
"There's no point settling for a draw or trying to not lose because that's when you come unstuck."
The Zimbabwe-born player has urged his side to ignore events beyond the Berkshire team's control.
"We cannot count on other games to go our way," Mordt asserts.
"Dorset are playing Wales and on paper they should beat them so we need to just focus on going down to Cornwall and beating them."
Captain Mordt is under no illusions this is the most significant period in his cricket career, even eclipsing his triumph of the Minor Counties Championship in 2008.
"This is one of the most important games I'm going to be playing in.
"It's lovely winning the Championship and the Lord's final [in 2008] but if we go on to win this game and the Western Division then we've created some history winning it twice in three years."
The 32-year-old also admits his side have reached their playing potential and it is time to turn that potential into tangible glory.
"There's been a lot of great teams that have played good cricket that haven't won anything," he comments.
"As a team we've reached the pinnacle, and been at the pinnacle for two or three years so now we need to go on and win things because while we are playing good cricket and in a winning habit we have an opportunity to go and reap the awards."
