League One side Brentford have signed Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy on a one-month loan deal.

McCarthy, 21, made his England Under-21 debut against Uzbekistan on Tuesday and had a loan spell with Yeovil Town last season, making 44 League appearances.

Bees boss Andy Scott told the club website: "Alex is highly regarded at Reading and will be coming to us on a high after making his Under-21 debut.

"He had a very successful loan at Yeovil last season."
