Pietersen last scored a Test century for England in March 2009 |
Middlesex will hold talks with England and Hampshire batsman Kevin Pietersen, reports BBC London 94.9. Pietersen, who joined Hampshire from Nottinghamshire in 2005, will leave The Rose Bowl at the end of the season for a county closer to his London home. Director of cricket Angus Fraser said Middlesex want to talk to Pietersen. "Things haven't moved at this stage. Conversations will take place but at this moment in time they haven't," Fraser said. England team director Andy Flower recently stated that Pietersen, who is centrally contracted to the England and Wales Cricket Board, must find a new county by the start of next season. | 606: DEBATE |
Pietersen, 30, has not played for his county since announcing in June that he would quit Hampshire at the end of the summer. His appearance in a Twenty20 match earlier that month was his first county game for two years. Fraser first revealed his interest in signing Pietersen, who has also been linked with Surrey, at the end of June.
