Oundle Town have made history by claiming the Northants League's Twenty20 title at the County Ground. Cameron Wake's side became the first Division Two outfit to win the trophy. In the final they beat Burton Latimer, from the Premier Division, by 37 runs with skipper Wake carrying off the man of the match award. Latimer scored 61 from 47 balls in Oundle's 179-7 and Burton were then restricted to 142-9 in reply, despite a rapid 44 from teenager Ben Mansell. Burton had earlier knocked out the holders and favourites Northampton Saints in the semi-finals, while Oundle overcame Stony Stratford. Meanwhile, defending champions Finedon Dolben have strengthened their position at the top of the Premier Division table thanks to a four-wicket win over the Saints in Saturday's big game at Avenue Road. Finedon are now 21 points clear of Peterborough, who beat Rushden by six wickets, with the Saints slipping to third. There were also victories for Stony Stratford, Brixworth and the Northants Academy.
