Jersey beat the Netherlands by a single run to stay joint-top at the ICC European Under-19 Cricket Championships in Belfast.

Jersey made 140-8 in their innings with Alex Cooke top scoring on 31 and Alex Noel making 30.

In reply, the Dutch were bowled out for 139, with Jersey claiming the crucial final wicket with a run-out on the final ball.

James Faudemar was the most economical Jersey bowler claiming 2-12.

It means the island side have won their first two matches at the Championships, and joint-top with Scotland.

Jersey are next in action on Sunday, when they play old rivals Guernsey.

The top two teams in the event will qualify for the ICC Under-19 World Cup qualifiers next year.
