Jersey beat Denmark by eight wickets in their opening game of the ICC Under-19 European Championships on Thursday in Northern Ireland. Rain forced the game to be delayed by four hours meaning it was reduced to a 33-over match. Jersey came out brightly after the delay and bowled Denmark out for just 90 runs in 31 overs. In reply, Jersey reached their target in 18 overs, knocking off the required runs for the loss of just two wickets. The top two teams at the end of the event will progress through to the global ICC Under-19 World Cup qualifiers next year.
