Guernsey captain Stuart Le Prevost decided to put Israel into bat after winning the toss |
Guernsey continued their success in the ICC European Division Two Championship by beating Israel by eight wickets at Port Soif on Wednesday. In their second match of the tournament Guernsey put Israel into bat after winning the toss. The visitors were all out for just 86 off 35.2 overs as Guernsey's bowlers took a heavy toll on home soil. Guernsey made short work of the target, finishing on 90-2 off 24 overs with captain Stuart Le Prevost 42 not out. Le Prevost said: "The guys who opened up the bowling for us did really well, we managed to restrict Israel to 86 all out, so very pleasing from that point of view. "In reply, we only lost two wickets in getting them, we lost them quite early, we were 7-2, so not too good early on but we managed to steady the ship and go through and not lose any more wickets, so thoroughly pleasing really." Looking ahead to the rest of the tournament he said: "We've played all of these teams in years gone by, I think Norway are possibly the team to look out for this week, they've definitely got a couple of dangerous players, we played them in Singapore last year. "But to be honest any team on their day can come in and turn a performance, so we've just got to make sure we concentrate on what we do well, and hopefully keep the wins coming along."
