Guernsey has been invited to host its third international cricket tournament in July 2010. The island's cricket board agreed to hold the ICC European Division Two tournament and face Israel, Germany, France, Gibraltar and Norway. Chief executive Mark Latter said the Sarnians will begin the event with confidence, having learned a lot about their opponents in recent seasons. He said: "We've got more of a guideline having played most of these countries." Latter said: "We've got a direct line of competition so we can assess our performance whereas before we might have played against someone who had played against someone else and we were trying to work it out that way." Guernsey previously hosted the World Cricket League Division Seven in May 2009 and the 2008 European Division Two tournaments.
