Frith top scored on 79 as Guernsey posted a target of 213
Guernsey lost to Malaysia by four wickets in the final over of their ICC World Cricket League Division Six match in Singapore on Wednesday.
Guernsey won the toss and choose to bat putting on 212-7 in the shorter 45 over match, with Jeremy Frith scoring 79.
In reply, Malaysia were 210-6 after 44 overs, and a six in the final over clinched victory for them.
"To come that close was disappointing to say the least," said Guernsey team manager Dave Hearse.
After three games Guernsey are at the bottom of the table, and the only side not to have secured a win so far.
To avoid relegation back to Division Seven, where they were promoted from in May, they have to finish the tournament in third or fourth which will mean winning both of their remaining games - against Norway and Botswana.
"The spirit in the camp is good," Hearse revealed.
"The players have taken a bit of a knock today obviously, and they've got to pick themselves up again and play to the same standard again."
Hosts Singapore continue to dominate the league with their fourth successive victory.
