Jersey athletes came out on top in the 2010 inter-insular triathlon, winning both the men's and women's races. Daniel Halksworth stormed home in a time of two hours and 15 minutes to claim the honours in the men's race. Guernsey's Jonathan Greenfield kept in touch with Halksworth throughout and eventually finished in second. The women's race was won by Jersey's Claire Forbes, after she overtook Gail King on the final leg to be the first over the line. In all, 58 competitors set off from Pembroke Bay to complete the Olympic distance race, which comprised a 1500m metre swim, followed by a 40km kilometre cycle and a 10km run.
