Lincolnshire beat Hertfordshire by 124 runs at Bishop's Stortford in the Minor Counties Championship. Having been set 365 for victory, Herts were dismissed for 240 in their second innings, with Andy Carter taking 4-53 and Alex Osmond 3-63. Lincs declared their second innings on 393-9 with last pair Aaron Onyon (80no) and Carter (60no) putting on 112. Peter Morgan (85) and Ollie Burford (75) also had a century partnership for the sixth wicket. Director of cricket Mark Fell told BBC Lincolnshire: "It was backs to the wall. We were even after the first innings but Pete and Ollie took the game away from them and the icing on the cake was the century last stand." Lincolnshire had had to make a late change prior to the match with bowler Charlie Hopkins falling ill. "We've played very well, especially with only four bowlers which made it difficult for Paul [Cook, Lincs captain] to mix things up," said Fell. "It's hard enough with five, but when you're down to three because Aaron was ill and struggled to bowl on the last day, Andy, Alex and Brett Houston deserve a lot of credit and so does Paul."
