A superb unbeaten 169 from opener Dan Birch helped Lincolnshire beat Cheshire by four wickets in the MCCA Knockout Trophy quarter-final at Grantham. Batting first, Cheshire were all out for 285 in the last of their 50 overs with Warren Goodwin making 140. In reply, Lincs were reduced to 63-3 before Birch and Ollie Burford (45) put on a fourth-wicket stand of 124. Birch then added a further 72 for the sixth wicket with Pete Morgan (31), with the winning run coming off a wide. Lincolnshire will now visit Wiltshire for the semi-final on Sunday, 11 July, after they beat Dorset by 22 runs in their quarter-final.
