Guernsey secured their first win in the World Cricket League Division Six tournament in Singapore beating Norway by 47 runs on Thursday.

Guernsey put themselves into bat and posted 244-9 in 50 overs before bowling out Norway for 197 in 45.4 overs.

"We fielded very well and bowled very well again. Batting let us down a little bit," said Guernsey's team manager Dave Hearse.

"They were disappointed yesterday they knew they should have won."

GH Smit was the man-of-the-match after posting 71 and taking 4-27.

Hearse praised Smit, who was unavailable for the Division Seven tournament.

"He's a fantastic addition to the team, works hard at his game and is professional off the pitch," he said.

Guernsey face Botswana in the final game of the league format and must win to be in with a chance of avoiding relegation.
