Guernsey's Under-17s finished fourth in Northern Ireland |
Guernsey finished fourth at the ICC European Under 17 Championships in Northern Ireland after rain played havoc with the fixtures. Just two of their five matches finished with a result in the week-long tournament which finished on Saturday. They beat Denmark by 115 runs on Duckworth-Lewis but they lost to Ireland by 35 runs in their only completed match of the week. Matthew Renouf was the tournament's leading wicket-taker. He took nine during the championships including 4-47 in the match against the host side. The title decider between Ireland and Scotland was abandoned without a ball bowled. Previous results during the week ensured Ireland were crowned champions, wrapping up their third consecutive title. Jersey finished ahead of Guernsey in third while the Netherlands and Denmark completed the table.
