Rathbone Old Victorians narrowed the gap at the top of the Natwest Weekend Premier League with a 26-run win over leaders St Ouen on Saturday. Batting first, Old Victorians scored 183-6 from their allotted overs with opening pair Peter Gough and Jonny Gough hitting 48 and 30 respectively. Danny Blasco was the best of the bowlers for St Ouen taking 3-37. But the league leaders were all out for 157 runs in 44.1 overs at Les Quennevais as Rathbone secured victory. In the other Premier Division game, Optimus beat Farmers-Caesareans by four wickets. Farmers batted first and could only manage 76 all out in 35.5 overs, Peter Blackburn doing the damage as he took 5-18. In reply Optimus reached their target in less than 19 overs and are are now in third behind St Ouen and Rathbone.
