York's lead over Castleford at the top of the Yorkshire Premier League has been cut to just two points after both sides won on Monday. York recovered well at Cleethorpes to win by 23 runs but could not dismiss them, so took only six points. Castleford beat Sheffield Collegiate by 10 wickets and took all eight points. York's Nick Kay top scored with 61 of their 236-8, while Alex Renton took 3-49 as Cleethorpes collapsed from 150-3 to end on 213-9. Scarborough's challenge is fading after they lost at Yorkshire Academy by 38 runs. The Academy made 195. James Finch took 4-46 and Piet Rinke 3-25. Scarborough skipper Darren Harland made 74 but he had little support as his side were dismissed for 157. A weakened Harrogate side were thrashed by Doncaster at St George's Road. Harrogate made only 58 and Doncaster knocked them off in just nine overs to clinch a nine-wicket win.
