Guernsey are ready says captain

Stuart Le Prevost
Guernsey begin the tournament against Gibraltar on Monday

Guernsey captain Stuart Le Prevost is confident his team will do well in the ICC European Division Two Championship if they believe they can succeed.

Le Prevost told BBC Guernsey "We have struggled with the bat. It's a case of going in with a positive attitude and doing the business."

The winners of the Championship will be promoted to Division One.

Teams from Croatia, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Jersey and hosts Guernsey will face off in a league format.

"If we do happen to do well in this tournament we can go into a different league and that could mean playing anywhere in the World. It's a massive incentive," said Le Prevost.

"We played a couple of the sides in Scotland two years ago but as with most sides you are going to get new faces in the team.

"Other than looking at results we haven't got any really information about their techniques and things like that. It's something that we've got to get in touch with really quickly and learn how to play those sort of games."
