Swindon welterweight Jamie Cox could be set for his first title bout.

It has been confirmed that the southpaw will top the bill at the town's Oasis Leisure Centre on Friday 24 July.

There is speculation the 22-year-old, who has a 100% record since turning professional, will box for a title but an opponent has yet to be finalised.

"It wouldn't surprise me if a title was put up for him. This is going to be the best bill that there's been in Swindon," said promoter Keith Mayo.

It is the second time professional boxing will have been in Swindon this year.

In February a sell-out crowd of 1700 watched Cox fight on the undercard of Nathan Cleverley's light-heavyweight defence.

Fellow Swindon fighter Marlon Reid will also appear on an eight bout bill.
