Aldershot's Jonathan Hay won the first event in the Guernsey Easter Running Festival at Port Soif on Friday. The 17-year-old finished the 10k race in 31 minutes 25 seconds, 11 seconds ahead of Guernsey's Lee Merrien. Race director Paul Ingrouille said: "They were together until 200m to go, and it was only then that Jonny really kicked in." Ingrouille said he was delighted to see more than 200 runners in the first event of the four-day festival. Further down the field, Louise Perrio missed out on the qualifying time she needs to compete for Guernsey at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. She came 24th overall in a time of 36 mins, 39 secs. She needs to beat 35:28 to qualify.
