Perrio took her first Channel Island cross country title

Guernsey dominated the Channel Island Cross Country inter-insular championships, winning the individual and team events.

The event was staged at Jersey's new Les Creux course last weekend.

Louise Perrio claimed her first Channel Island title, surging forward from 30 metres behind the leading Jersey runner to win by a clear 100 metres.

Steve Dawes and Alan Rowe took first and second respectively in the men's event.

With other Guernsey runners in fourth, sixth, eighth and ninth the Sarnians took the mens' team title comfortably.

In the women's team event Perrio was followed by Martine Scholes in second, Sarah Mercier fifth and Kerry Robin sixth, to secure their team title.
