Guernsey Post won for the fourth year in a row |
Guernsey Post secured victory at the annual Inter-firms relay for the fourth year in a row. The one-mile course around St Peter Port was completed by 128 runners in 32 teams with the funds raised going to the island's athletics team. James De Garis, who was new to the Post team, said: "We've got the bragging rights for another year now so hopefully same again next year." "I don't think I'd have turned up to work tomorrow if we hadn't won it." The Guernsey Post team, made up Tristan Robilliard, Peter Guilbert, Sam Dowding and James De Garis finished in 21 minutes and 12 seconds. But the Posties did not secure the fastest individual time of the day as that honour was taken by a brother and sister. Mark Mercier was the quickest man finishing in four minutes and 48 seconds and Sarah Mercier was the fastest women in five minutes and 37 seconds.
