 Garland just missed out on selection for Berlin |
Dale Garland and Lee Merrien narrowly missed out on qualification to next month's World Athletics Championships in Berlin. Each finished third in their events at the Aviva World trials and UK Championships in Birmingham. Garland came third in the 400m hurdles in a time of 50.92 behind Welsh pair David Greene and Rhys Williams. Merrien finished the 5000m in 13:59:35, a season's best but not enough to secure qualification.
