After Martin Johnson decided to call it a day as England captain Dallaglio got a chance at redemption as he regained the captaincy for the 2004 Six Nations and summer tour of the southern hemisphere. It was not a glorious lap of honour though, as an England side shorn of many experienced players struggled to live up to their status as world champions, and Dallaglio decided to call time on his international career. But domestically it was a different matter for "Lol" and the 2004/05 season saw Wasps win the Premiership title for the third time in a row, beating Leicester Tigers in the final at Twickenham.
