Cycling legend Lance Armstrong has announced he will return to racing to try to win an eighth Tour de France in 2009. The American, who will be 37 on 18 September, recovered from cancer and claimed victory in the Tour a record seven times before retiring in 2005. He has been inspired to have another crack at glory by the success of older competitors at the Beijing Olympics but is he wrong to risk his legacy, and his creaking bones? BBC Sport's Chris Bevan looks at other sportsmen and women who returned from retirement to recapture the glory days of earlier in their career.
