| Thursday, 13 February, 2003, 22:49 GMT Peterborough 1-1 Luton Neale Fenn's equaliser pulled Peterborough further away from danger and curbed Luton's charge towards the play-offs as the London Road clash ended. The pint-sized striker earned the hosts a point with a great strike just before the break in a frantic high-noon derby showdown. Fenn's cracking half-volley from 20 yards screamed into the bottom corner and cancelled out the Hatters' early opener, when Steve Howard was left unmarked to sneak a shot past goalkeeper Lee Harrison. Harrison pulled off a series of fine saves to keep Posh on level terms, twice thwarting Tony Thorpe when the striker looked certain to score. The keeper - on loan from Conference side Barnet - also made great blocks from Alan Kimble and Howard before Matthew Spring smashed a volley against the crossbar as Luton cranked up the pressure late on. Peterborough: Harrison, Gill, Arber, Rea, Burton, Jelleyman, Scott, Shields, Danielsson, Andy Clarke, Fenn. Subs: Farrell, Newton, Connor, Laurie, Semple. Luton: Ovendale, Neilson, Boyce, Coyne, Kimble, Brkovic, Spring, Robinson, Hughes, Thorpe, Howard. Subs: Beckwith, Crowe, Willmott, Hillier, Holmes. Referee: P Joslin (Nottinghamshire). |
