A commanding innings by Ashwell Prince saw South Africa efficiently wrap up the fourth one-day international against West Indies by six wickets.

Prince sealed the win with a lashing stroke over the boundary to finish on a career-best 89 not out in Trinidad.

Windies skipper Shivnarine Chanderpaul held his side together with an unbeaten 85 to set up a solid total of 231-8.

But Prince combined with Justin Kemp (65) to add 132 for the fourth wicket and take a 4-0 series lead.

The home side were soon in trouble as Makhaya Ntini removed both openers Chris Gayle and Xavier Marshall for three.

Kemp showed his attacking intent when he came in, and that spread the field and made it easier to take singles

Brian Lara followed for 22, one of four catches taken by Prince, but Ramnaresh Sarwan (48) and Chanderpaul guided them to a respectable score.

Ntini was the pick of South Africa's attack, taking 3-34 from eight overs.

South Africa had pressed Jacques Kallis into service again despite an arm injury because Graeme Smith and Herschelle Gibbs were unavailable.

Smith was handed a four-game ban by match referee Jeff Crowe for persistent time-wasting during the third game and Shaun Pollock led the side in his absence.

The visitors slipped to 61 for three as AB de Villiers, Boeta Dippenaar and Kallis were all sent back to the pavilion for 17 apiece.

But Prince reignited South Africa's cause and along with Kemp, who was removed for a creditable 65 off 75 balls, and Boucher (10 not out) steered the tourists home.

The fifth and last match in the series will be played at the same venue on Sunday.
