Age 22, Pole vaulter Lewis, a Commonwealth bronze medallist in 2006, is in fine form and desperate to show off his skills on the big stage after failing to qualify for the Beijing Olympic final. Merry says: "He has started the season very well and he'll be gunning for the seven-year-old GB indoor record. "He has been UK champion for the last two years having worked well through the juniors. "He is tall, strong and mature beyond his years and will have learned a lot from Beijing. He also seems to be very level-headed and has plenty between the ears. "He's good and young but now needs to start mixing it with the big boys." The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites |
