  1. 'How are Arsenal not out of sight?'published at 12:20 GMT

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on Monday Night Club

You can just imagine being an Arsenal player sat at home watching the game [Liverpool v Manchester City] thinking 'blimey this is working out brilliantly'. And then all of a sudden you think 'okay City have equalised that's alright we'll take that, it'snot too bad'. Then City find a way to win it.

In many respects, the way City have played this season and they had the three draws at the start of January, you think how are Arsenal not out of sight? But they're not. Arsenal have a few tricky away games coming up, City have a few home games where you think if Arsenal drop anything else then psychologically these things can and do start to take their toll.

Manchester City's win over Liverpool at the weekend undoubtedly helped their title chances and fans will be hoping it will inspire more consistent form than the club have had of late. They've done it before and - if they're going to win the league - they need to show their best form of the season and it needs to improve on what they've shown in recent months. Here are their last six league results:

    • WIN: 2-1 at Liverpool
    • DRAW: 2-2 at Tottenham
    • WIN: 2-0 v Wolves
    • LOSE: 2-0 at Man Utd
    • DRAW: 1-1 v Brighton
    • DRAW: 1-1 v Chelsea

That's NINE points dropped in their last six matches. Can Guardiola find that elusive consistency starting against Fulham on Wednesday?

  3. 'I would still make Arsenal very, very strong favourites'published at 12:14 GMT

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on Monday Night Club

I don't think City can put a run together just from what we have seen this season. The optics, the inconsistency of performance. There may be something in [the fact] that there are many players there who have been there and done it but because we don't feel City have that same control and power that they have done in previous seasons it doesn't feel likely. I would still make Arsenal very, very strong favourites.

A 19-game winning run more than meets the threshold to become someone's bogey-team, right?

So let's have your bogey-team stories.

    • Have you been part of a Sunday League team who hasn't manage to beat their rivals for 20 years?
    • Have you followed a team that finally got that elusive win? And just what did that relief feel like?
    • Or maybe your team is that good against a certain other side that you just know you'll always beat them?!
    • And should it deter Fulham fans from even making the trip to Man City given they've returned home empty-handed for every visit in the past 15 years?

  5. City's winning record against Fulhampublished at 12:08 GMT

Yesterday, Marco Silva was asked about Fulham's record against Manchester City.

Manchester City have beaten Fulham 19 times in a row.

What a record. It almost came to an end in their most recent meeting - in a ridiculous 5-4 win for City at Craven Cottage in December.

On their dismal record, Silva said: "It is what it is, it's the reality. Sometimes, you have teams that you perform [against] and get results constantly and other times it doesn't happen. It is what it is and you have to face it.

"The numbers are there. The facts are there and you have to embrace the challenge."

  6. What are City's title chances?published at 12:05 GMT

Is the Premier League title race alive? Arsenal are currently in the driving seat as they are six points clear of Manchester City.

Opta have predicted the probability of City taking the title rather than the Gunners.

They give Pep Guardiola's side an 8.17% chance of winning the top-flight this campaign, while Arsenal have a 90.54% prediction.

  7. 'Is that the save that could tilt the title Man City's way?'published at 12:02 GMT

    Shay Given
Former Newcastle and Man City keeper on Monday Night Club

I think getting Marc Guehi through the door and getting [Ruben] Dias back from injury, I think those could be key players. Donnarumma the save as well was phenomenal at the end, we have spoken about [James] Trafford and his situation but if you are looking at the save is that the save that could tilt the title Man City's way? It's unbelievable in the last minute, it really is.

  8. 'The title race isn't over'published at 11:57 GMT

Man City v Fulham (Wed, 19:30 GMT)

    Shamoon Hafez
    Football news reporter

The Premier League title race is "not over until it's over", says Erling Haaland after Manchester City stayed within touching distance of leaders Arsenal.

The Norwegian played a pivotal role in City's incredible comeback against Liverpool on Sunday.

Asked if the result was bigger than just three points, Haaland replied: "Yes, definitely. It's true. [But] It's three points, it's three points, it's three points, simple as that, no matter who you play, if it is Tottenham or whatever.

"We've seen before that the title race is not over until it's over. So for me right now, I need to recover, eat some good food, and focus on Fulham, because there's still many games."

After making a prolific start to the season, Haaland has struggled in front of goal in recent games with his effort against Liverpool just his third in his past 10 games in all competitions.

He added: "I haven't scored enough goals since the start of this year and I know that I need to improve. I know I need to be more sharp, better at all of this and this is something that I have to work on. I have to keep going because this is what everyone deserves and expects.

"I don't want to speak about why I haven't performed. I don't think there's any excuse. Fatigue is a lot in the head. It's a lot of games.

"Look at the schedule, it's not easy, and for me, it's about staying fit, don't get injured. That's the most important thing and try to be ready to help the team."

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is facing the media a little later today, so keep an eye out on the BBC Sport indexes for his thoughts on their state of play.

But the next news conference we have to bring you is Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who is due up at around 12:30 GMT...

This maybe an unpopular opinion but I think the team most at risk of not getting a Champions League spot 4/5 is Aston Villa, with their poor run of form and injuries. Not only that, they weren’t going to keep scoring wonder goals all season.

I, like many other life-long Liverpool fans, have been hugely frustrated by our performances so far this season. It is a world apart from last season. I fully understand the anti-Slot minority. But maybe we are now starting to see the real LFC. I am starting to believe.

Too many defeats already for the season. A Champions League place would salvage the season, to some extent, but would still be well below what was anticipated by nearly everyone at the start of the season.

On Slot saying he's never lost two games in a row. Ask him about the two consecutive defeats against Sparta Rotterdam and Willem II. Paul in freezing cold Sweden.

    Paul

Rather you than me Paul...and that's on both counts - asking Arne Slot about those defeats and being in freezing cold Sweden!

  15. Slot - 'Not acceptable' if we don't qualify for Champions Leaguepublished at 11:31 GMT

Sunderland v Liverpool (Wed, 20:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

A final word from Arne Slot on whether Champions League qualification would make this an acceptable season: "Acceptable? Yes. If we don't have Champions League football it has not been an acceptable season.

"What I said when I arrived here, we can only sign Federico Chiesa and that was after a Europa League season. So it does have an enormous impact in the way this club is run, so that is clear. I am completely aware of that."

It’s difficult, no doubt Slot has had a LOT of injury issues to overcome as well as a serious loss of form for some and the lessening impact of key players like VVD & Mo BUT we have become so placid and poor to watch. Verdict: SLOT OUT, XABI IN!

Sunderland v Liverpool (Wed, 20:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot on if he has done anything different this season: "You always do something different because you cannot compare any season with another one. It's different to lead the team after a loss or multiple losses or multiple draws than it is after a win. But I don't think anyone in this building would tell you I have completely changed.

"It is different after the season we are having now than all the other seasons I have managed, where we always did something special. There is still a possibility we can do something special this season as well."

  19. My toughest season as a manager 'by a mile' - Slotpublished at 11:15 GMT

Sunderland v Liverpool (Wed, 20:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

    Arne SlotImage source, Getty Images

Liverpool manager Arne Slot was asked if he felt this had been a tough season:

"That is fair to say [this is the toughest season I have had] by a mile. All of the other seasons I have managed there were only positives, I don't think I have ever lost two games in a row. It's an exception for me this season and it is for the players, they are not used to losing a lot or having a lot of draws. I am not used to that either.

"It's always more of a challenge after you lose a game of football to get them going again and after a win tell them that we are not as good as they might think they are, so this season has been more challenging for me as well.

"You also take nice things out of it, though that may sound weird. I also look at how much improvement we are making. As a manager we are always looking for results but it is also important the players and the team improves because if that doesn't happen we would have an even bigger problem over here.

"But in my opinion everyone is now able, maybe not those who are injured, to play every three days at the intensity level that is needed at this club and in the Premier League as well.

"As a result, our performances are much, much, much better than they were at the start of the season. I don't mean the first six games, but when we started playing a double programme [including midweek European and domestic cup games].

"The first six games we only had one double programme with Everton, that was a difficult win, and since we went into the double programme we have started to drop so many points."

How many make shift right-backs does it take before Calvin Ramsay gets a chance? It's frustrating as a fan seeing all these players play in a position they're not comfortable in when we have an out and out right-back on the bench. Similar to Slot's insistence in not starting Chiesa.
