New signing Kabongo Tshimanga scored twice on his Barnet debut as the 10-man hosts held on for a 3-2 victory over Oldham, ending the Latics' six-game unbeaten run in League Two.
Oldham took the lead in the 11th minute when Joe Garner played the ball into Tom Pett, who finished with a left-footed strike.
Barnet goalkeeper Cieran Slicker kept the visitors at bay with saves from Kane Drummond and Donervon Daniels.
The hosts equalised when captain Anthony Hartigan delivered a free-kick that a stretching Danny Collinge directed goalwards, for Ryan Glover to poke home from close range.
On the stroke of half-time, Hartigan's free-kick struck an Oldham hand and Tshimanga converted the resulting penalty into the top right corner.
Barnet were reduced to 10 men in the 64th minute when Nik Tavares was sent off. Oldham levelled immediately as Garner set up Jack Stevens, who fired into the bottom right corner.
The Bees claimed the winner in the 88th minute when Glover's cross bounced off the woodwork to Tshimanga, who converted the rebound for a memorable debut brace.
