Alassana Jatta's 10th league goal of the season earned promotion-chasing Notts County a second consecutive win with a dominant 1-0 victory over Crewe at Meadow Lane.
The Gambian striker rose highest to nod home Nick Tsaroulla's cross with just eight minutes on the clock in a game far more comprehensive than the scoreline suggests.
Jatta also had a chance to double the lead just after half-time, only for Crewe goalkeeper Ian Lawlor to deny him from 10 yards.
He was also involved midway through the first half, teeing up Ollie Norburn to strike the corner of post and crossbar with a swerving effort from the edge of the box.
The hosts continued to go close after the break as Lewis Macari's effort was deflected inches wide, before Matthew Dennis missed a golden opportunity from inside the box in added time.
Despite manager Martin Paterson's touchline ban, County closed out a win that kept them in League Two's top seven.
