Coast to Coast Adventures:
Sam and co. at Coast to Coast Adventures run a mobile surf school in East Lothian and the Borders. Based in Dunbar, they are open seven days a week and run lessons at 9:30am, 2pm and 7pm (when the waves are surfable!).
A basic lesson costs £35, which includes two hours of instruction, a high performance wetsuit, boots, gloves and a British Surf Association (BSA)-approved beginner's surf board.
They offer a range of packages, including one-to-one instruction, weekend deals (with accommodation) and 'After Work' (evening) surf sessions. They also offer bodyboarding lessons with similar availability and prices for equipment and instruction.
For beginners and intermediates they break down the process of learning into stages, so you can learn quickly, safely and with the correct technique. They cater for groups or individuals and claim that age isn't an issue (lessons are open for people aged 10 years to 60 years).
Sam Christopherson is the main instructor and has represented Scotland in both Surfing and Bodyboarding. Sam's a qualified NARS beach lifeguard, who's recently completed the BSA surf instructors course in Cornwall. He has fifteen years experience of surfing the east coast of Scotland.
