 | | | | | | | | | | | Last week saw the first vert jam in Scotland for over ten years. The standard of skating was great, the vibe was chilled, and Dave Allen had even made the trip up.
All in all, it was a great day, and Airtight was on hand to take way too many pictures, resulting in Ste having to stay in late at work to do all the pop-ups, with his girlfriend typing up the interviews, so's they can get to go out faster. Ahh - that's love for you, that is.
Anyway, heres are a few words from some of the guys who skated. We did actually get an interview with Colin as well, but the minidisc seems to have lost it, so sorry Colin.
Stu Graham:
And how long you been here today? Phew! Since about twelve like, 'bout four, maybe five hours, what time is it?
No idea. Like, four hours, say.
And you've been skating the whole time? Yeah, non-stop.
Are you pretty minced? Sore like - feeling it.
Where you feeling it most? Eh, in my knees
in my knees.
Have you been riding vert a lot since the new ramp came here? Since it's been here, yeah. It's the first I've skated vert, pretty much, but I'm intae it.
Do you enjoy skating vert? Oh loving it! Loving every second.
What are you more into - getting the height or getting the lip tricks and stuff? Lip tricks are good, but its all about the height, pretty much.
What's the highest you've gone? Not really that high - maybe five, six feet.
But it's going up each time? Oh, aye! It's getting bigger - gonna need tae get a bigger ramp soon [laughs].
What were you most pleased with pulling today? Mmm, the back-tray, backside 360 flip.
You were trying that for a while Aye, it took a while, but I got it eventually.
Cheers, Stu. Cool.
