Kirkaldy Skate Jam
The Kirkcaldy Skate Jam, courtesy of Stuart Hill:

The day began with some braw Scottish weather: rain. Then our prayers were answered and the clouds left for Methil and the sun ensured everyone had very visible sweat patches.

And quite rightly so - everyone was busting out. No pro's, no sponsored riders, just hardcore locals and 'neebourss!' fae G-rothes, Leven and other assorted hamlets. The PA system was fault-free and the tunes flowed free. Now Yan (one of the three judges) does have a note of everyone's names who took part in the comp, but as such I don't have it yet, I'll get the details to you asap.

Basically, the under 13's busted out with no regards to their own safety, just as a comp should be. Under 16's ripped the park to shreds, and one in particular, little Stef from Glenrothes destroyed everything to take a well deserved first place.

The over 16's entertained the crowd with blood, sweat and tricks that would make your gran cuss. Locals shone through, with the podium being full of foul mouthed, tonic swatching, board snapping Kirkcaldy skaters. Braw!

Overall it was a good day - no one had to be carted away, the product toss was flesh wound free and well, it seemed as if everyone was there to skate and have a good time. You know - nae bad vibes, pal.
