Tried and Tested: Profile three-piece cranks
Profile cranks

Profile started off making parts for racing cars in the late 1960's and were very successful (they still are). In 1977, one of the owner’s kids got into BMX racing, so, with his eye for innovation and his technical background with the lightweight materials chromoly and aluminium, he decided to start making parts for their bikes.

In 1979 they made their first tubular chromoly crankset with a 48 spline axle, not that much different from their cranks today. Nowadays, there is quite a choice when it comes to 3-piece cranks, but it used to be just Profile or Redline. Everyone broke Redlines so Profiles were the natural choice.

In my opinion, Profiles are very light, well made, strong cranks with good quality American chromoly and no crappy pinch bolts. They are easy to assemble and there's not much to go wrong with them. If that's not enough what is? Oh, and they are probably the most popular cranks on the market, there has to be a reason for that, huh?
