Ande's Bike Check
Ande has questionable hair but a sound bike. Cast your eyes over his (ahem) 'ride':

'Alright? The weather is so bad, just looking at ma bike is making me want to ride. So I thought I'd put ma time to use and do a bike check.'

FRAME: Fit Logic 20.5tt (destickered) black.
Bit shorter than my last frame 'n my riding's improved so much since getting it. I'm also so proud to own a Fit coz they always seemed like a brand to aspire to (and now I've taken the stickers off no one knows it the cheaper model!)

FORKS: Volume.
Originally had brake lugs but the angle grinder took care of that. Also been repainted several times

WHEELS:
Front: Cheap, sealed, bearing hub on a chrome Ukai HP48s rim.

Rear: GSport Vandal 14t lhd with an Odyssey 13t freewheel and an FBM hubguard on a painted black Ukai HP48s.
Bo wheels are laced four-cross. I don't know much about the rims coz I got the
m with another bike I bought but everyone tells me they are pretty rare, old school rims, and yes, I painted one of them black (badly)

TYRE AND TUBES: Revenge Industries street tyres with thorn-proof tubes wrapped in regular tubes. Walkin' sux.

CRANKS: Primo Powerbites with an RNC ti axle. These cranks are solid and now also pretty light thanks to an RNC ti axle that the most hated man in BMX got me from over the pond

SPROCKET: Gusset 32t

PEDALS: DMR V12s. Light and grippy

CHAIN: KMC510. Soon to be replaced by a Hard Dad.

SEAT/POST: MacNeil seat and post combo. Another poofy light part, but it works so well

SEATCLAMP: Primo Slim. Silly name coz it ain't exactly slim.

HEADSET: FSA Pig unsealed.

STEM: Mutiny top load.

BARS: Volume Reagle Beagle bars. Nice n' high.

GRIPS: ODI Longnecks and Snafu cork bar ends.

BRAKES: Vans Loot, size 12, black.

PEGS:
Front:
Odyssey ti peg on the left and a Snafu Hex on the right.
Rear: Kink OG.
I bought the ti peg one month I had a bit of spare cash and put it on my regular side at the back as I thought the sparks would be cool but then realised each feeble grind was probably wearing about a fiver's worth of metal off the peg, so I moved it to the front

TENSIONERS: Odyssey pact

EXTRAS/MODS:
Carbon headset spacer, coz it looks so trick. I cut my bars down by about one inch on either side. The Snafu hex peg is cut down to the same length as the ti peg so that lookin' down at the front wheel isn't weird. I always cut the flanges off my grips. Thinking about cutting the brake mounts off my frame but I don't wanna ruin the paint yet. I like to keep my bike as simple as possible. In the past I've ridden probably every possible combination of brakes and pegs but the setup I have jus now allows me to get out on my bike and have fun as much as possible. I can't do anything very big but I think the four pegs and no brakes setup lets me ride more spots than I would be able to if I only had 2pegs and getting rid of the nasty sinful brakes means more time ridin' and less time fannying around with cables etc.
