The rock

This has to be one of the most beautiful islands known to man but sometimes it feels like a severe case of cabin fever. Now and again you need to get off the rock but man is it expensive to do it. You got the cost of your ticket and then the cost for cold food on the ferry is just crazy. Isn't it about time they built a tunnel so us islanders don't all go crazy being stuck on this glorious rock????

Hi, Moans of the day. I want to get off my island too at some point. Go to the dizzying heights of Oban, maybe do a bit of S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G. But I have two dogs, so I have to take transport, ie my truck to put them in and the cost is highly prohibitive. Probably costs about £200.00 to visit Oban. Mmmm, I know what you are saying.

Just nip over the border to Ballallan in Lewis and you'll feel better. It'll cost about three quid in diesel plus a bribe to the border guards at the frontier barrier on the Clisham.

I should think that would be far enough for anyone, what with the bright lights of Stornoway and all...

Squidgy: can't your dogs swim alongside the ferry? Of course, the same could be asked of Otters ... # Why do you need to take a ferry to go shopping? There is the internet, is there not? and al-Fayed will ship you anything you wish from Knightsbridge.

I have it on good authority that Annie B is in Cardiff today.
