Nikolas Rose is Professor of Sociology at London School of Economics and Director of BIOS Centre for the Study of Bioscience, Biomedicine, Biotechnology and Society. Tonight in the Hong Kong Theatre at the London School of Economics, he will deliver the Clifford Barclay Lecture entitled Will biomedicine transform society?
Laurie Taylor talks to Professor Nikolas Rose about the impact of biotechnology: will it re-shape our society, family life and our own sense of who we are and what we can hope for? And does it hold the possibility to alleviate or exacerbate the huge global inequalities in health?

Dr David Anderson is Lecturer in African Studies and Research Fellow at St Antony's College, Oxford and author of Histories of the Hanged, Britain's Dirty War in Kenya and the End of Empire.
David Welch is professor of Modern History and Director of the Centre for the Study of Propaganda and War at the University of Kent and co-editor with Mark Connelly of a collection of essays called War and the Media, Reportage and Propaganda 1900-2003.
Laurie Taylor is joined by Dr David Anderson and Professor David Welch to explore the issue of media management during war and whether the press, television and radio can be neutral observers during times of conflict.
